The NYC REMAC exam
What is the NYC REMAC Basic exam?
It is the protocol exam paramedics take to credential with NYC REMAC and work in New York City. It tests the NYC REMAC Prehospital Treatment Protocols specifically, not general paramedic knowledge.
How long is the exam and what score do I need?
The REMAC Basic exam is 120 multiple-choice questions in 3 hours, and you need 80% to pass. Rules, fees and dates can change, so confirm the current details with REMSCO at nycremsco.org.
What does the exam cover?
The NYC REMAC protocols: the General Operating Procedures, the Treatment Protocols and the Appendices, plus scenario-based questions that ask you to apply them to a patient.
Which protocol version is RemacReady based on?
The 2026 NYC REMAC Prehospital Treatment Protocols. Every explanation cites the protocol section and page number. Protocols change, so always follow the current official version and your medical control.
Using RemacReady
What is RemacReady?
RemacReady is exam prep for the NYC REMAC Basic exam: 1,000 practice questions, a full 120-question mock exam and eight study modes, with every explanation cited to the protocols. It is a product of EMS Education.
What do the explanations include?
After each answer you see the correct choice, why it is right, why each other choice is wrong (named by its text, since choices are shuffled), and the protocol reference with its page number so you can check it yourself.
What study modes are there?
Quick 10 (free once a day), Question of the Day, Timed Quiz, Level Up, Weakest Subject, Missed Questions, Build Your Own and the full Mock Exam.
Can I stop a quiz and come back later?
Yes. Any unfinished quiz from the last 7 days can be resumed with the same questions, answers and flags. The Timed Quiz clock pauses while you're away; the Mock Exam keeps a hard 3-hour deadline like the real exam.
Does it track my progress?
Yes. Stats show your scores by subject and over time, Review lets you go back through past quizzes and explanations, and your study calendar marks the days you practiced.
Is this official REMAC or REMSCO material?
No. Unofficial study aid. Not affiliated with or endorsed by NYC REMAC, REMSCO, FDNY, NYS DOH, or NREMT. The questions are written for practice; they are not real exam items.
Will RemacReady guarantee I pass?
No. We don't publish or promise pass rates. Practice helps you prepare; the credential is REMAC's.

Your account
Who can sign up?
Anyone 18 or older. RemacReady is built for paramedics and paramedic students preparing for the NYC REMAC exam.
Why do you ask about my certification and agency?
A short profile (certification level, state, agency) helps us tailor practice and improve the question bank. You can edit it any time from your account.
How do I get help or report a problem with a question?
Signed in, use Help in your account, or the "Report a problem with this question" link under any explanation. Not signed in? Use the contact form.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Request deletion from your account settings and we'll process it by hand. See the Privacy Policy for what we keep and why.
Partnerships
Can I share RemacReady and earn rewards?
Yes. Every account gets a personal share link; signed in, you'll find it in Settings under Referrals. Creators and larger communities can apply as affiliates on the Partnerships page.
Do you offer group access for classes or agencies?
We're building it: group and bulk access, class codes and free instructor accounts. Instructors, CIC/CLIs, paramedic programs and agencies can register interest on the Educators page.
